We most commonly give a 2-hour window and vow to call when the plumber is 20 mins away.
With 20 years’ experience, we have helped customers with all kinds of plumbing services. Blocked drains cause a lot of concern because water can back up in your home and create a health hazard.
There are many reasons a sewage drain gets blocked. The first and most effective process is to use a drain clean machine. This feeds steel cables down the drain and either pushes through or grabs onto the sewage blockage. This process is priced-capped for the hour.
We’ll arrive with all the equipment we need to fix your blocked drain quickly.
A leak in your plumbing system can happen suddenly and the only hint that there’s a plumbing problem is receiving an unusually high water-bill.
Water leaks may be an obvious leak from a tap or may be hidden underground from faulty or aged pipes. Once you know where the leak is happening, the right action can be taken.
At Fast Plumber, we have a number of measures we take which come from our 20 years of experience. We can find a leak fast or isolate a burst pipe to a specific location even when it’s not visible or concealed.
The first thing you need to do is to turn off your water supply at the mains. You’ll find the mains connection in your front yard of your house or in your bathroom or laundry if you live in an apartment. Then turn on your leaking tap and let it run all the excess water out.
A tap can be leaking due to a part in the tap or in your connection being broken. If you don’t know how to fix them, Fast Plumber is on hand quickly to sort it out for you.
Remember that dripping taps are not just annoying, they are wasting water and money! It’s better to get onto this problem as soon as possible.
It may seem a simple job, but you can run into trouble if you don’t know what you’re doing.
Fast Plumber has the equipment and know how to fix leaking taps quickly and without mess.
If you see water leaking out from underneath your toilet, you need to get it fixed as soon as possible.
Any leak from your toilet can be hazardous to your family’s health.
The base of the toilet is bolted to the ground with two Tee bolts. If they loosen, you may find the toilet wobbles or rocks a bit. This causes the seal formed by a wax ring at the base of your toilet to break. This means drain water is able to seep out of the base each time you flush the toilet.
There are steps you can take to fix the leak yourself, but you could easily run into problems.
You will need to check if:
• The Wax Ring Needs to Be Replaced.
• There's a Loose Water Supply Line.
• Water Is Condensing on the Toilet and Dripping Down.
Fast Plumber has 20 years’ experience in finding the cause of leaks underneath the toilet and fixing it professionally and fast!
Before trying to check out where the leak is coming from, here are some of the main supplies you'll need to fix your toilet when it leaks from the bottom.
• Wrench - to remove some of the nuts and bolts
• Screwdrivers - so you can unscrew various toilet parts to uninstall your toilet for repair
• Bathroom Cleaner – to clean around the base of your toilet
• Cleaning Cloths - Terry cloth and microfiber towels work best.
• A toilet repair kit - with Washers, Gaskets, Toilet Bolts, Toilet Wax Ring, and Putty Knife
• Cordless Drill or Driver - to make tight bolts easier to remove
• Hacksaw - to cut through bolts at the base, the toilet seat's plastic bolts, or other toilet bolts.
• Rubber Gloves - to protect your hands
• Caulk – to reseal the edges of your toilet to the ground
Review these steps in detail so you can repair your toilet leak by yourself.
1. Check for Condensation – which may be forming on the outside of the toilet bowl. If this is the case, try installing a tray, or insulating your water tank, or check the flapper isn't faulty.
2. Tighten the Tee Bolts - Remove the plastic covers from the base; use an adjustable open-end wrench to tighten the bolts; make sure the wax seal is compressed against the floor.
3. Disconnect and Remove the Toilet if the above do not work:
• Remember to shut off the water valve
• Flush the toilet to drain all the water
• Use a cloth to clean up the excess water
• Use a screwdriver to unscrew the nut that mounts the supply tube to the valve tailpiece
• Use a wrench or hacksaw to remove the nuts from the Tee bolts
• Remove the toilet by lifting it up and away from the floor drain
• Set the toilet on its side to prevent damage.
4. Remove the Wax Ring and Install a new one by scraping away all of the old wax from around the drain opening using a putty knife. Install the new wax ring with the plastic cone facing down toward the drain. Ensure that the tee bolts are positioned correctly on each side of the flange.
5. Reinstall the Toilet by lifting the toilet carefully and placing it back over the drain. Press the toilet down onto the wax ring, rocking it gently to compress the wax and create a tight seal. Tighten the Tee bolts and nuts with a wrench. Do not over-tightened, which may cause the porcelain to crack.
6. Connect the Water Line.
Reconnect the water supply tube to the fill valve then turn the water back on. Flush the toilet after the toilet tank fills back up, then check for any leaks. Seal the base of your toilet with caulk.
